Job Summary:

Employees who create the designs of the Auto Cad Draftsperson using materials that will be put together through welding, screwing or other means are responsible for analyzing Assembly drawings, measuring materials and cutting/welding them to appropriate size and shape. The merchandise that is created in this area must have perfect dimensions and must be crafted without blemish. Any questions regarding the assembly of materials are directed to the Auto Cad Draftsperson/Fabrication Manager.

Job Duties:

  • Cycle counts on material for purchasing or production departments
  • Physical counts of entire inventory when needed
  • Coordinate and stage all material planned for production  in advance so the materials are where they need to be when they need to be there to avoid any downtime on the production lines
  • Must use miter and chop saw, lathe and grinder to shape and manipulate metal for projects
  • Drill press will be used by employees to create holes, often for screws
  • Tube Bending and other tools are used to complete projects as well
  • Have a clear understanding of production work flow’s interrelationship the custom fabrication department has with other departments
  • Metal shop organization and housekeeping
  • Collaborates with cross-functional departments
  • Check that all information regarding Work Order/Auto Cad rendering is correct before accepting job, making sure that employee perform duties perfectly and check that all information is correct regarding Work Order/fabricated merchandise before giving the job to the next stage of Production Job Competencies:

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Open and available to work overtime including weekends Safety Requirements:
  • Safety goggles are worn by any person in the Metal Shop
  • Long hair must be tied up and back
  • Gloves must be used when welding
  • Ability to stand throughout shift and lift 50 pounds, without straining
